Mikaela was introduced to the world of alpine skiing at the age of 3 through her parents Eileen and Jeff who have been very supportive throughout her career. Since her very first race, aged just 15, at the World Cup in March 2011, she has simply just excelled. Olympic, World Cup and World Champion in her discipline, slalom, Mikaela Shiffrin is already one of that very small elite: today’s top female skiers.
She won her first World Cup race in 2011 at the age of 15, her first World Slalom title in 2013 at the age of 17 and became Olympic Slalom Champion in Sochi in 2014 (RUS). She is the only athlete to have won the Longines Rising Ski Stars for three consecutive years (2013 to 2015), an award recognising her status as the best Under 21 Skier on the circuit.
With her 134 podiums and 86 World Cup victories, Longines ski athlete Mikaela Shiffrin is a four-time crystal globe winner, two-time Olympic champion and seven-time World Champion. While she already held the record for the most slalom wins on the circuit, Mikaela Shiffrin now also holds the women’s World Cup record, making her the greatest feminine Skier of All Time. With victories in all five alpine skiing disciplines, Mikaela has made her versatility an asset and her achievements have earned her a place among the greatest skiers in history.
